We are presenting a unique opportunity for one local Savannah resident. If you've ever thought about joining an esthetician training program but couldn't manage to fit a traditional on-site school into your schedule due to work commitments or the high costs of some institutions, consider the Georgia Cosmetology Board-approved esthetician apprentice program as an alternative route to obtain your Georgia Esthetician License.
The initial weeks of training will occur in the comfort of your own home, while the practical component will be conducted at our fully functioning day spa close to Skidaway Island. Your instructor will be Tara Scott-Johnson, our owner and master aesthetician. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Tara's expertise and business management abilities offer a priceless source of knowledge for a lucky student.

What will you learn as an esthetician apprentice?
First, the apprentice will learn the theory of esthetics - the science of skincare, professional practices, and spa management. Next, the practical component will begin with one-on-one training with your master trainer to include:
Facial Treatments (spa & machine)
Body Treatments
Hair Removal (waxing & tweezing)
Makeup Application (to include brow tint & false lashes)
Disinfection & Sterilization
After spending several weeks studying theory, the apprentice will start working with real clients. Practical experience is crucial for mastering the art of touch, learning to analyze skin, and establishing connections with clients.
How long does the program take?
The Georgia Cosmetology Board requires 18 months of supervised training in a spa setting. After completing 18 months and 2,000 hours of training, the apprentice must take the state board exam to earn their Georgia State Esthetician License. Once this is achieved, the esthetician apprentice becomes a fully licensed esthetician, allowing them to work independently or in a med spa or day spa of their choosing.
How much does the program cost, and can I earn an income while participating?
Indeed, starting around week 30, when the apprentice begins working with paying clients, they will start earning money from commissions and tips. This income will persist for the rest of the 18-month program, following a tiered pricing system that corresponds to their accumulating experience. Additionally, the apprentice may set their own schedule; they are not an employee of the spa but rather an independent contractor.
Although a top-rated on-site esthetician program typically costs about $14,000, our personalized one-on-one program is significantly more affordable because apprentices can work in our spa, helping to reduce some of the expenses. Our fee, which includes initial training, supply costs, supervision, and the use of equipment and facilities, is $8,000. This fee can be paid in installments over the first 30 weeks.
If you wish to be considered for this opportunity, please email us explaining your interest in the program. We will reach out to each applicant for interviews in the upcoming weeks. Send your email to suitelifespa@gmail.com and include "Apprentice Program" in the subject line.
